Where it all began...

Heather was born in Glace Bay Nova Scotia, and raised as an "army brat", while her dad was in the service. One of 5 children, living in a small east coast town, singing around the house all day was common place. The army life kept them on the move across Canada. Heather learned at a very young age that family was very important, even precious. Through their many moves, friends were made coast to coast, and today she thanks that lifestyle for creating such a strong, tightly bonded family.

Heather has one sister and three brothers, who have grown up, not only as siblings, but best friends. She says her mother was then, and still is, the glue that holds them all together. Mom's non stop hard work and 24 hour love for her family was a major influence on all the kids. When Heather's father passed away suddenly at an early age, a realization took place. He always told the kids, if you want to do something, then you should "go for it", find a way to make it happen. His death opened Heather's eyes. She appreciates that life can be short so if you have dreams and ambition then you should follow through to realize your passion. Her father was a great inspiration for her then, and still is in spirit.

Heather and her family often created their own entertainment of which Heather was front and center, singing and dancing. Kevin, the older of her 3 brothers was a natural on the drums and he'd lay down a solid beat that never wavered. A fond and proud memory for Heather was when she accompanied her brother to a drummer's clinic which was hosted by, arguably the greatest jazz drummer of all time, the legendary Buddy Rich. Buddy said to Kevin, "your a natural, just keep drumming." Kevin was only 12 at the time; he was the backbone of Heather's band in the early days. Oh, was Heather proud!

At the age of 5, Heather knew music would always be a part of her life. She has been a professional singer for many years now, singing various styles of music. Heather's musical influences are varied and she's comfortable singing any genre, including Pop-Rock, Country, R&B, Jazz and Classic Rock. Heather has a flair for writing and her original lyrical style includes a lot of attitude and messages that we can all relate to. You must listen to her latest compilation CD project, "One Penny More." 9 of the 13 tracks were written by Heather and some of her collaborative writing partners. Each one tells a story .........
